Orioles Acquire Trevor Rogers from Marlins
Former All-Star Set to Join Baltimore Rotation
Baltimore Adds Left-Handed Depth to Pitching Staff
The Baltimore Orioles have acquired left-handed starter Trevor Rogers from the Miami Marlins in a trade that sends cash considerations to Miami. Rogers, a former All-Star and Rookie of the Year candidate, adds a talented and experienced left-handed arm to the Orioles' rotation.
Rogers, 25, was an All-Star in 2021 and finished second in the National League Rookie of the Year voting that season. He made 31 starts for the Marlins in 2022, finishing with a 5-13 record and a 5.47 ERA.
However, Rogers has shown glimpses of his All-Star potential in recent outings. In his last four starts, he has allowed just two earned runs in 20 innings pitched, striking out 25 batters. The Orioles are hoping that Rogers can return to his All-Star form and provide a boost to their rotation.
