Chiefs Sign Former UCLA RB Carson Steele
The defending Super Bowl champions have signed running back-fullback hybrid Carson Steele, a former Ball State standout. Steele enters his first season with the Chiefs in 2024 after originally entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Los Angeles Rams.In his college career, Steele rushed for 1,823 yards and 22 touchdowns in three seasons at Ball State. He also caught 53 passes for 487 yards and three touchdowns.
Steele is expected to compete for a roster spot as a backup running back and fullback. He could also contribute on special teams.
Chiefs Coach Andy Reid Talks Combine
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid spoke to the media following the NFL Combine. Reid discussed the Chiefs' needs, the players they met with, and his overall impression of the event."We had a good Combine," Reid said. "We met with a lot of good players and got a good feel for what's out there. We're excited about the upcoming draft and adding some new pieces to our team."
Reid also discussed the Chiefs' need for a wide receiver. The Chiefs lost Tyreek Hill in a trade to the Miami Dolphins and are looking for a replacement.
"We definitely need a wide receiver," Reid said. "We're looking for a guy who can stretch the field and make plays. We're also looking for a guy who can be a good blocker and contribute on special teams."
